Parents/Carers Forum

What is our Parent Forum?

The Parent Forum is a voluntary partnership between parents and carers and the school. We feel it is a valuable way to share any ideas and make suggestions for improvement across all areas of the school.

The aims:

  • To work together collaboratively to improve the education provided for our young people
  • To share relevant information and knowledge around the curriculum and diagnosis
  • To develop further our communication between parents/carers and staff/governors
  • To work in a consultative way for the wellbeing of all our staff and young people.
  • To foster an active partnership between home and school

Who can participate within our Parent Forum?

We would relish the opportunity for any parent/carer or grandparent to join our Parent Forum meetings. The forum will be chaired by Mrs Murphy the Deputy Head teacher.

Why should I become involved in the Parent Forum?

As a parent or carer it would gives you an opportunity to get together on a regular basis with other parents to have your say on what the school is doing well, and suggest ideas of how things could be improved.

How often does the Forum meet?

The Forum will meet at least once a term Initially, the meetings will take place on a Friday morning at 10.00 Dates will be shared with all parents/carers and shared via dojo and social media.

What is on the meeting agendas?

All issues that are linked to improving the school and further developing the partnership between the school and parents. The agenda will be sent out to parents and carers prior to the meeting. This will hopefully support attendance. There will always be a parent /carer agenda item where parents can ask pertinent issues.

What can’t be discussed at the meetings?

Any personal issues, concerns or complaints involving individual young children, families or members of staff. These issues should be raised through appropriate complaints channels.
